Events, Updates and Reminders
Budgeting Workshop: Join us at CCU's Galesville office on Thursday, March 14th at 6 p.m. for a session on budgeting. Whether you're young or starting out or looking toward retirement, a budget is a tool all can benefit from. The workshop will be led by CCU Certified Financial Counselor and Onalaska Branch Manager Sue Jacobson. Please call 800-258-0023 to sign up. Registration is required.
CCU Annual Meeting: Members, join us for the 81st Annual Meeting of Co-op Credit Union on Thursday, March 21st at 7 p.m. at the Lunda Theater in Black River Falls. Hear reports on the status and progress of your credit union, vote in the board of directors election and be eligible to win prizes. Entertainment by Dixieland Express will begin at 6:30 p.m. Free motorcoach transportation is available. Two routes: One starting in Onalaska and picking up in Galesville, North Bend and Melrose and the other starting in Fall Creek and picking up in Strum and Osseo. Call 800-258-0023 to sign up and reserve a seat.
Financial Wellness Series: Join us for a new Financial Wellness Series at the Black River Falls Public Library, presented by Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor Jason Breining. All sessions will be held at 6 p.m. in the library's program room. Please register by calling CCU at 800-258-0023 or at the library. Sessions include:
- Wednesday, February 27th: Scams and Fraud (This session was rescheduled from February 12th due to weather.)
- Tuesday, May 14th: Your Credit Score
- Tuesday, August 13th: Money 101
- Tuesday, November 12th: Holiday Budgets
The series is a collaboration of CCU, the Black River Falls Public Library and the Friends of the Black River Falls Public Library.
CCU Scholarships: We are pleased to offer $1,000 scholarships to a graduating senior at 10 high schools throughout the region each spring: Augusta, Black River Falls, Blair-Taylor, Eleva-Strum, Fall Creek, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Lincoln, Melrose-Mindoro, Onalaska and Osseo-Fairchild.
We believe in the power of not only supporting our communities and the people who live in them but also the value and importance of education. Eligibility requirements include the student or the student's parent or guardian being an active CCU member for at least six months and be in good standing. Merit (academics, extra-curricular activities and community service) and need also are considered.
Interested applicants should address any questions about the application process directly to their school's guidance office or scholarship coordinator.
