Savings Bonds are a safe, easy way to invest your dollars, and they make great gifts for the young person in your life. Interest earned on a bond is tax-deferred until it is redeemed for cash.

- Series EE Savings Bonds may be purchased in denominations of $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000. Length of maturity varies, depending on the current rate of return. The issue price of each is 1/2 the denomination.
- Series HH Savings Bonds may be purchased with matured EE bonds with values of $500 or more.
- Series I Savings Bonds are purchased at face value with earnings added on monthly. The earnings rate is a combination of two separate rates: A fixed rate of return and a semi-annual inflation rate. I Bonds can earn interest for up to 30 years. I bonds can be cashed in after six months but do carry a penalty if cashed in within the first 5 years. May be purchased in $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 amounts.
