Statement of Commitment
Co-op Credit Union is a
not-for-profit cooperative financial institution committed to
offering its member-owners the highest quality financial products
and services available. As a credit union, we strive to serve our
members’ financial needs by delivering our products and services
in a convenient and timely manner. Co-op Credit Union will uphold
its fundamental responsibility to actively serve our field of
membership and, as appropriate, the community in which they live.
We will look for better ways to reach the unserved or underserved
in our field of membership and continually demonstrate the value
of membership in the credit union.
We are committed to our
mission of providing a financially strong credit union which
promotes thrift. We believe in empowering our members with the
knowledge to make sound financial decisions. We will strive to
serve the interests of our member and potential member base. We
will seek opportunities to communicate and demonstrate the unique
role that member-owned financial cooperatives play in our society,
so that our members, potential members, legislators, regulators
and the community at large understand our difference.
This Statement of
Commitment to Members represents the beliefs and philosophy of
Co-op Credit Union. We will continue to provide our members with
the respect they deserve and the excellent service they have come
to expect. This credit union will conduct its relationships and
operations in accordance with this purpose and uphold its
fundamental commitment to the communities it serves.

Co-op Credit Union is
committed to financial education for our members and others in our
communities. In addition, we are committed to educating members
and consumers alike about credit union uniqueness, philosophy, and
values.

Section 3:
Involvement/Governance
Co-op Credit Union will
preserve credit union democratic principles, including demographic
representation and volunteer participation in credit union
activities.

Co-op Credit Union operates as
a democratically controlled, member-owned cooperative by finding
diverse, multi-skilled, adaptable, productive and service oriented
management, staff and volunteers.

the Credit Union Movement
Co-op Credit Union will work
to build and strengthen the credit union movement by providing
financial and in-kind resources to others within the credit union
community, and by actively advocating the credit union difference
at all levels of government and in other appropriate public
forums. In addition, CCU will participate in state and national
cooperative activities as appropriate, and will strive to build
and strengthen relationships with other sectors of the national
cooperative movement.

/ Corporate Citizenship
Co-op Credit Union provides
support or other in-kind contributions to worthwhile local
organizations, and participates in public service activities. CCU
strives to be an active partner in our community. We recognize
that practicing good Corporate Citizenship supports the credit
union philosophy of People Helping People; furthermore, it will
help raise the overall level of social and economic well being of
those in our community, help to strengthen ties within the
community, and better position us to reach out and serve those
people in greatest need of affordable financial services.
